Sophia Kieffer is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Auburn University.
Sophia has gained experience in a variety of settings, including an internship at a women’s residential facility for addiction recovery and an outpatient university counseling center. After graduating, she worked with groups and individuals at a substance use disorder facility and later as an intake therapist for mental health disorders. Most recently, she has worked at an eating disorder treatment facility for both adults and adolescents.
As an advocate for mental growth and well-being, Sophia utilizes various talk-therapy modalities. She believes that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) have been the most effective in helping her clients improve their symptoms. She also has a strong interest in the mind-body connection and incorporates Trauma-Focused CBT into her work. Sophia takes a person-centered approach to therapy, meaning she meets clients where they are in their journey and tailors treatment to their unique needs.
Having personally experienced the transformative nature of therapy, she is passionate about sharing her skills and forming meaningful therapeutic connections that foster change.
Outside of her role as a therapist, Sophia enjoys spending time in nature, thrifting, attending live music concerts, traveling, and being with friends and family.
