Marissa daley

Counseling Intern

Marissa is a Master’s level intern through Winthrop University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Sciences from Clemson University in 2020. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Counseling and Development with a concentration on clinical mental health at Winthrop University. After completing her undergraduate degree, she entered the workforce but realized her true passion was working in mental health and guiding others on their healing journey.

Marissa has experience counseling adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. She enjoys using an integrative approach, incorporating techniques from Person-Centered Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and more. She believes clients are the experts on their lives, and acts as a guide to help clients understand their experiences and the ways these experiences have shaped them. By creating a safe therapeutic alliance and leaning on her clients’ strengths, she hopes to promote understanding, empowerment, and an environment for positive change in the client’s life.
