Beth Wilson PhD, LPC, DCC
Counselor and Owner
Dr. Beth Wilson is the founder of Thrive Family Services LLC. She is a licensed professional counselor in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In addition to her license as a counselor to provide traditional face-to-face counseling, Dr. Beth is a certified distance counselor (meaning that she can provide counseling services remotely by e-mail, phone, and video), and she is also currently pursuing certification as a trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapist. With a doctorate in Psychology and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Dr. Beth has 15 years of experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She favors an eclectic approach to therapy, using techniques most suited to each individual such as behavioral modification, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, trauma-focused treatment, and dialectical behavioral interventions, among others. Dr. Beth enjoys helping clients identify their own strengths and how to use them to improve their mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
In order to provide the best standard of care to her clients, Dr. Beth is not currently able to accept new clients due to a full caseload. However, she is happy to provide advice on which counselor may be best suited to work with you based on your struggles and goals.
Dr. Beth also oversees, supervises, and provides professional advice to all of her staff. She is an advocate for the professional development of others in the counseling field, offering supervision in person or remotely for any LPC-I that is starting or is in the process of completing the supervised clinical hours required for licensure. Supervision fees are $100 per individual meeting, or a flat rate of $350 per month when paid in advance, which includes up to 5 hours of supervision during that month.
