Nicole Carroll
Counseling Intern
Nicole is a Masters level intern through Capella University. She is currently finishing up her last quarter in their Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program. She has her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Mercy University in New York, with some experience in her last year there being part of a research team. As a result of her own personal counseling experience, Nicole was inspired to go into the field of mental health as a marriage and family therapist. She desires to help bring hope and change for couples, families, and individuals who are in distress and in need of help for their relationships and mental health. Nicole has completed externship (Level 1) trainings from the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) for Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families (EFFT). She is also currently working on completing Level 1 for Gottman Couples therapy. Nicole also utilizes a variety of interventions from therapy models such as Solution Focused, Satir, Narrative, Collaborative, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. Nicole strives to help her clients discover deeper understanding of their experiences and intrinsic emotional needs, as well as collaborating with them to learn new skills and finding resources that benefit their mental health and their relationships.
